The Central election Commission of Kazakhstan announced the preliminary results of the presidential elections in the country. According to the acting head of state Kassym-Jomart Tokayev gaining 70,76% of votes, TASS reported on Monday, June 10.

“Tokayev Kassym-Zhomart Kemelevich – 6 504 054 voice or 70,76% of the vote,” – said the Deputy Chairman of the Central election Commission Konstantin Petrov.

He noted that the data submitted by the territorial commissions of the regions and cities of Shymkent, Almaty and Nur-Sultan.

According to preliminary results, public figure and journalist Amirzhan Kosanov gaining 1 472 733 votes or of 16.02% of the votes, the Deputy of the Majilis (lower house of Parliament) Denmark Espaeva – 478 153 votes, or 5.2 percent, Chairman of the Board NAO national agricultural research and educational center Toleutay Rakhimbekov – 294 271 votes, or 3.2%, Chairman of the territorial Association of trade unions of West Kazakhstan oblast Amangeldy Taspihov – 190 304 votes, or 2,07%, the Majilis member Zhambyl Akhmetbekov – 167 249 votes, or 1.82 percent, public figure and writer Sadybek Tugel – 84 348 votes, or 0.92%.

Recall that in March President Nursultan Nazarbayev who led the country for almost 30 years, resigned.

The acting head of the state has become Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, who was Chairman of the upper house of Parliament. Three weeks after taking office, he has appointed early election.
