In the underground of Istanbul, the ceremony of the launching of the first line of unmanned trains in Turkey. The event was attended by the President of the country Tayyip Erdogan, reports Hurriyet.

Unmanned trains will run on the stretch of the metro line üsküdar – Sancaktepe. In the first section of the new line length of 10.5 km will operate nine stations.

The full metro line will consist of 16 stations and will be able to transport about 700 million passengers daily. The remaining seven stations will be launched in June 2018.

The new metro line combined with the two big traffic arteries of Istanbul – terrestrial Metrobus and Marmaray underground.
