The head of the main opposition Republican people’s party (CHP) in Turkey Kemal kılıçdaroğlu called on the government to suspend diplomatic relations with the Netherlands after the scandal with the Minister of family and social policy of Turkey Fatma Betul saillant Kaya in Rotterdam. He stated this Sunday at a rally in Adana.
“I appeal to our government. Once the Dutch side will not allow itself to our Minister, it is necessary to suspend relations with that country. For us it is unacceptable that our Ministers prevented when they go to Germany or the Netherlands”, – quotes the TV channel Habertürk. Kılıçdaroğlu pointed out that his call “is not connected with the referendum on amendments to the Constitution and is a matter of national scale .”

A similar opinion was expressed by the Chairman of the other opposition nationalist movement Party, Devlet Bahceli, called for a freeze of relations with the Hague. His party supports the government’s initiative to amend the Constitution.
President Tayyip Erdogan said that the incident with Kaya “Holland was acting like a banana Republic.”
“We will be patient, but ask the bills. So we will not leave. The whole world saw this obscenity of the Netherlands. I invite the international organisations to raise the voice against such behavior and even to impose sanctions against the Netherlands,” he said at a rally in Kocaeli.
On the eve of the Dutch authorities refused to issue permission to land at Rotterdam the plane, the foreign Minister of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu. Later in Rotterdam has arrived the Minister of family and social policies Fatma saillant Betul Kaya, but she was not allowed to hold campaign rally and blocked the entrance to the Consulate building. Kaya, accompanied by the Dutch police were deported back to Germany. The car of the Minister was stopped by the police and forwarded under escort to the border with Germany.
