MOSCOW, March 7. /TASS/. The Russian Navy until the end of 2020 will receive two project 22350 frigate with a new anti-aircraft missile and artillery system with multiple types of guided missiles. This was announced by Russian defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on a conference call.
The “third thematic issue dedicated to the creation of anti-aircraft missile and artillery systems and anti-aircraft missile complex long-range. Until the end of 2020 in the composition of the Navy will include two of the newest frigate of project 22350, are equipped with modern strike complexes “Caliber” and “Onyx”. Air defence of these ships should provide new anti-aircraft missile and artillery system with multiple types of guided missiles”, – he told on air “Russia 24” .

According to the Minister, on grounds of the Baltic and Northern fleets, as well as at the Kapustin Yar in the Astrakhan region has completed more than 60 launches of these missiles. “Today, we will discuss the results of the tests on the head frigate of the 22350” he said.
Shoigu said that the defense Ministry expects to receive on arms new shipboard anti-aircraft system in the near future.
Head frigate of the project 22350 “Admiral Gorshkov” was laid in early 2006 and launched in fall 2010. In November 2014, the ship first appeared on the test. Delivery to the Navy scheduled for the end of July this year.
The second ship of the series, “Admiral Kasatonov”, was launched in the year 2014, the launching of the third ship, named “Admiral Golovko”, is expected in 2017.
The ships of project 22350 Admiral Gorshkov has a displacement of 4.5 thousand tons and can develop speed up to 29 knots. They are equipped with, in particular, missiles of “Oniks” and “Kalibr”, as well as anti-aircraft missile system “Poliment-Redut”.
The construction support vessels
Chapter Minoborony also said that by 2020 it is planned to build more than 60 vessels of various classes.
“2020 must be built more than 60 different marine and offshore support vessels”, – he said.

As the Minister said, “a massive logistics operation to deliver military cargo to Syria clearly demonstrated” that no vessels of auxiliary fleet “is essential to the effective operation of combat forces of the Navy”.
“If before the upgrading of the auxiliary fleet was conducted through the construction of RAID support vessels – tugs, ships integrated port service – now we face new tasks,” – said Shoigu.
In this regard, according to him, the defense Ministry will direct its efforts on the construction of large-scale, as well as other universal and multifunctional vessels that can meet the needs of the Armed forces in the far sea zone. “They will solve complex problems of logistics in locations and near the operational area of fleets, as well as in distant sea and ocean areas, including the Arctic”, – concluded the head of the defense Ministry of Russia.
