The Union of European football associations (UEFA) has named the best players of the season 2018/2019.

The best goalkeeper became Alisson Becker of Liverpool, voted the best defender his teammate Virgil van Dijk, best midfielder Frankie de Jong from the Dutch “Ajax”, the best forward – Lionel Messi from the Spanish “Barcelona”.

The best player in Europe last season was Virgil van Dijk.

Special prize of the President of UEFA for his contribution to the development of football was presented to former midfielder “Manchester United” Eric Cantona.

The best football player of Europe in season 2017/18 UEFA was Lucy Bronze from Lyon.

The ceremony took place in Monaco.
