KIEV, may 2. /TASS/. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has instructed the Ukrainian foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin in the near future to prepare proposals on the withdrawal of Ukrainian representatives from the coordinating bodies of the CIS.

“Please, Pavel Anatolievich [Klimkin] throughout the week to make me proposals for the removal of all Ukrainian representatives from Minsk, the coordinating bodies of the CIS”, – he said during the meeting of the national security Council, the broadcast of which led the Ukrainian TV channels.
Thus, according to Poroshenko, the country will cease participation in the coordinating bodies of the Commonwealth. He stressed that this does not mean withdrawal from the CIS because Ukraine had never entered .
April 12, Poroshenko asked the government to prepare a document about the official termination of participation of Ukraine in the CIS, instructing the Cabinet of Ministers to start the procedure for official withdrawal of Ukraine from the founding of the CIS bodies. In turn, April 23 the Chairman of the Executive Committee – CIS Executive Secretary Sergei Lebedev said that the country has not yet submitted an official notice of intention to leave the bodies of the Commonwealth.
Ukraine in December 1991, ratified the agreement on creation of the CIS and the Protocol to the agreement but not ratified the Charter of the Commonwealth, therefore, de jure, did not become a member of the CIS. Kiev, however, participated in the work of the organization, although not at all levels. In 2014, after the change of power in Kiev, the country’s new leadership announced that it is starting the process of leaving the CIS. In October of the same year to the Verkhovna Rada was made by the bill, but until recently it has not been considered.
