Ukraine will evaluate the effectiveness of the Agreement on free trade zone (HAZ) with the European Union in 2018, said the Deputy Minister of economic development and trade – trade representative of Ukraine Nataliya Mykolska.

“We have a dialogue with the European Union about the need for an assessment of the actual Agreement vecs with the European Union, which will later become the basis for negotiations and consultations. For its part, next year Ukraine is planned the evaluation of the agreement, regardless of the position of the European Union”, – she said at a press conference in Kyiv on Thursday.

Answering questions of journalists, she also noted that the Ministry does not consider critical negative foreign trade balance of the country

“We don’t see a critical situation. We’re talking about increasing investment in Ukraine . With the increase of the investment process and the growth of import due to the import of equipment and raw materials for further production of goods in Ukraine”, – she noted.

Another reason for the growth of the import trade representative said that the increase in world prices.

“In monetary terms imports grow more than physical. It shows the growth of world prices on the goods we import. This benefits our exports, but loses import”, – said N. Mykolskiy.

As reported in the January-October 2017 the negative balance of foreign trade in goods of Ukraine has increased almost 2.2 times compared to the same period of 2016 to us $4,573 billion.
