The export of Ukrainian goods to Canada for the first 6 months of 2017 amounted to $22.7 million, down 76.3 per cent more than the same period in 2016, said the Deputy Minister of economic development and trade – trade representative of Ukraine Natalia Mykolskiy.

“The FTA (free trade zone – if) Canada is beginning to have an impact on our economic relationship even before it fully came into force. For the first 6 months of 2017 the export of goods to Canada totaled $22.7 million, which is 76.3% more than in the same period of 2016”, – she told in interview to Agency “Interfax-Ukraine”.

At the same time, as noted N. Gaina, for export to Canada, the goods must be certified, which is different from the European one.

The Deputy Minister has noticed that also is the revival of the canadian import of goods to Ukraine, in particular, in the field of pharmaceuticals and seafood, products of light industry: clothing for special conditions, cold weather and work clothing .

“We are seeing interest from canadian companies to be opened on the territory of Ukraine of production of goods and their subsequent delivery to the markets of the EU and Canada,” – said the trade representative of Ukraine.
