PYATIGORSK, December 19. /TASS/. The Council for the development of tourism will be created in the North Caucasian Federal district (NCFD). Their representatives in the new body will be able to delegate regions of the County, said Tuesday the Plenipotentiary of the President in North Caucasus Federal district Oleg Belavenets.

“We need to create a tourism Board under the Plenipotentiary of RF President in the North Caucasus Federal district in which [it is necessary] to involve professionals who know the problematic issues of each region,” he said in Pyatigorsk on the preparatory meeting for the ski resorts of the district by the winter of 2017-2018.

The envoy noted that in the development of tourism in the North Caucasus, there are many problems that are not solved by administrative measures . As a result, according to Belavencev, the process is quite difficult, and some projects, such as the recent establishment of a special economic zone (SEZ) in the Caucasian Mineral Waters are closed.

“The SEZ in the Caucasian Mineral Waters was just ruined by the officials. Did nothing and closed. No one was held accountable,” – said the envoy.

He added that now there are many issues of concern that will be able to solve new Advisory body to the Plenipotentiary in skfo. The belaventsev said that this applies to, for example, of the registration of residents of the existing SEZ, infrastructure development, organization of rest of tourists, attraction of new investments.

“To delegate their representatives to the new Council will be the regions”, – said the envoy. As explained in the staff of the Embassy, the Council for the development of tourism will be created in 2018.

Special economic zone of tourist-recreational type in the Caucasian Mineral Waters was established in Stavropol in 2007.

One of the major pilot projects was the Centre of extreme tourism on mount Yutsa Pyatigorsk resort complex “Grand Spa Yutsa”, includes hotels, sports facilities, including Golf course, equestrian centre and paragliding centre.

The development project was conducted for eight years, but nothing has been built, investors are not found, and in 2016, the SEZ has ceased to exist.
