The US President Donald trump has imposed sanctions against the production of metals in Iran

Washington’s measures relate to steel industry Tehran and raised the production of iron, steel, aluminum and copper in the country.

The US President Donald trump on Wednesday, may 8, signed the decree on sanctions against mining and metals production in Iran. This was reported by press service of the White house.

It is noted that the purpose of sanctions is to deprive Iran of revenues, “including revenues from exports related to the manufacturing of iron, steel, aluminum and copper,” which “can be used for the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, financing of terrorist groups, aggressive actions in the region and military expansion”.

Measures directed against the Iranian producers and owners of metals produced in this country, and against those who sell metal from Iran. Their assets in the United States can block the Ministry of Finance.

Also banned the supply to Iran of products and equipment for the extraction and production of these metals.

As stressed by the trump, the sanctions will affect ten percent of Iran’s exports.

Recall that in may 2018, the us President announced the US withdrawal from the nuclear deal with Iran.

Later he had renewed sanctions against Tehran, which were withdrawn in 2015 and has promised the introduction of new measures.

During the year, the U.S. regained unilateral sanctions against Iran, which primarily affected the oil and banking sector.
