Sanctions imposed against Russian companies and hacker groups.

The U.S. Treasury Department announced sanctions against six Russian companies and hacker group Evil Corp (also known as Dridex gang), and 17 associated persons, among whom there are citizens of Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Greece, Israel and Spain.

Among included in the sanctions list is one Maxim Jakóbiec, which the Treasury calls the head of the hacker group, providing “direct assistance to the malicious efforts of the Russian authorities in the field of cybercrime”.
