The American representative in the UN said that Tehran should be held accountable for missile launches and support of terrorism.
US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley in response to the statement of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Tehran must not be allowed to have nuclear weapons, reports Reuters.
Earlier, Rouhani said that Iran will be released from the agreement on its nuclear program if the United States will impose new sanctions.
“We cannot allow Iran to use the nuclear agreement to hold the world hostage. Under no circums tances allow Iran to have nuclear weapons,” the statement said Haley.
She also stressed the need “to continue to engage Iran liable for missile launches, support of terrorism, disregard human rights and violations of the resolutions of the UN security Council”.
According to the U.S. mission to the UN, next week Haley will visit the headquarters of IAEA in Vienna, where he will discuss with the leadership of international agencies, the volume of Iran’s nuclear activities.
Earlier it was reported that the Iranian Parliament approved a bill that increases the cost of the program on creation of ballistic missiles and operations abroad in response to new U.S. sanctions introduced in August.
