Washington has urged Moscow to fulfil its obligations and to exert influence on the separatists.

Responsibility for the attack on a patrol of the Special monitoring mission (SMM) of the OSCE in the Donbass are Pro-Russian separatists. This was stated by state Department spokesman USA Heather Nauert.

“The U.S. is deeply concerned about the violence and attacks by Russia-backed separatists in the East of Ukraine against the unarmed civilian staff of the Special monitoring mission (SMM) of the OSCE,” said Neuert. She stressed that the militants are funded and managed from Russia.

“The latest incident with the threats and attack on the car of mission of OSCE Pro-Russian forces on 20 June is part of a broader effort to prevent the world community to see what is happening in the East of Ukraine”, – said the representative of US state Department.

According to her, the same applies to a number of other, earlier, similar incidents . “We call on Russia to use its influence to end this campaign of intimidation to fulfil their obligations to ensure free, full and safe access for OSCE observers,” – said Neuert.

Earlier, first Deputy head of the OSCE SMM Alexander hug said that the organization expected punishment of assailants on June 20 observers mission in Yasinovataya, which is under the control of the DNI.
