Ukraine and USA agreed on technical assistance for the implementation of reforms in Ukraine for a total of $54 million

On Tuesday Kyiv hosted a signing ceremony for providing technical assistance aimed at promoting reforms for sustainable economic development and promote more transparent and accountable management processes, with broad participation of citizens.

Participating in the signing ceremony first Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of economic development and trade of Ukraine Stepan Kubiv noted that the assistance will be provided in the energy sector, rule of law and ensuring accountability of government institutions to the citizens.

Deputy Prime Minister added that today’s agreement provides for the allocation of $54 million, but the total amount of anticipated technical assistance needs to reach $123 million.

S. Kubiv said that the cooperation with the US on the issue of technical assistance and support reforms began in 1992, and in total, Ukraine received assistance for about $4.3 billion, of which through the United States Agency for international development (USAID) assistance was provided on approximately $2 billion.
