The starting complex of the cosmodrome Baikonur

MOSCOW, September 21. /TASS/. The new Director of the branch of Roskosmos at the cosmodrome Baikonur was Valery Khachatryan, who previously worked at the Center for exploitation of ground space infrastructure (TsENKI), said on Thursday the press-service of the Corporation.

“General Director of state Corporation “Rosatom” Igor Komarov was appointed Valery Khachatryan to the position of branch Director of the Corporation at the Baikonur cosmodrome”, – stated in the message.

At the same time, Roman Bobkov, acting Director of the branch, became Deputy Khachaturian.

Valeriy Khachaturyan was born on 4 January 1964 in Rostov-on-don. In 1986 he graduated from the Rostov higher military command school named after M. I. Nedelin. From 1981 to 2011 he served in the Armed forces of the Russian Federation .

In 2012-2017, he held the position of Deputy chief of Department of tests, preparation and launches of the carrier rockets, the head of the centre of operation of the missile complexes, the Deputy chief of the test centre room 2 – the chief missile Space center “South” (a branch of TsENKI).
