Co-Chairman of the parliamentary faction “the Opposition bloc” Oleksandr Vilkul has ignored the requirement to speak the state language at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.

During a speech Vilkul from the parliamentary tribune there was a small incident.

The MP spoke in Russian, but his speech was interrupted by the cry of the Deputy from “popular front” Yuri Timoshenko, who ran up to the podium and together with other colleagues-deputies demanded from the administration to speak Ukrainian.

Chairing the meeting, first Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko urged the administration not to strain the situation and speak the Ukrainian language.

“Mr. Vilkul, you have the perfect Ukrainian language,” she said .

In turn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Andriy Parubiy, who briefly went out and returned at this point in the plenary hall, has called on all MPs to communicate at the plenary meeting on national language and expressed the hope that in the near future will be able to regulate the issue of language use in Parliament.
