SPLIT /Croatia/ 7th of April. /Spec. Q. TASS albert Starodubtsev/. Weightlifter Adam Malikov won the fourth gold of the Russian national team at the European Championships in the Croatian split. 23-year-old athlete won in the weight category up to 94 kg.
Previously, to achieve success at the European championship managed Natalia Khlestkina (to 58 kg), Anastasia Romanova (up to 69 kg) and Diana Mccavoy (up to 90 kg).

The sum of the two exercises – snatch and push – Malikov raised 388 kg (180 in snatch and 208 in clean and jerk). Second place went to the representative of Ukraine Dmitry Chumak (388), the third Lithuanian Aurimas Didzbalis (386). Another representative of Russia, Yegor Klimanov (378) became the fourth.
Malikov – the silver prize-winner-2014, winner of the Cup of the President 2015 and 2016 . In 2016, the athlete with total of 401 kg (181+220) won a victory in the championship of Russia on the eve of the Olympics was regarded by experts as one of the main contenders for the medals.
24-year-old Yegor Klimanov year ago at the European championship in Norway took fifth place with 371 kg (160+211) and won a small gold medal in the clean and jerk. Cup Russia 2017, he came in second with 381 kg (170+211).
The European championship will end on April 8, left to play three sets of awards.
