Zaporizhzhya metallurgical plant “Zaporizhstal” declares false information about the alleged incident, the explosion at the blast furnace of the enterprise, which allegedly led to casualties and chlorine emissions to the atmosphere.

As reported in a press release on Saturday, online communities and groups, messengers spreading false information about the alleged accident at the plant.

“This information is untrue and common sense. We inform you that: 1. Industrial accidents leading to explosions and loss of life, at “Zaporizhstal” NO. We work in a regular mode. 2. Chlorine is NOT used and is NOT formed in the process of “Zaporizhstal” – so the probability of emission of chlorine into the atmosphere by the plant is expressly excluded. 3. Aspiration system of production units and equipment, “iron and steel” work in a regular mode according to the Ukrainian legislation,” reads the press release.

It is noted that on widespread in the media space fake about the alleged explosion at the plant responded promptly, the national police and the environmental Inspectorate, which on the same day, 17 April 2020, visited “Zaporizhstal” and found no abnormal and emergency situations at the plant.

“The company is operating normally in compliance with the rules enshrined in the environmental legislation of Ukraine”, – summarized in a press release.
