The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky has signed the law on increasing minimum wages from 1 September to 5 thousand hryvnia. About it reports a press-service of the President’s Office.

“The document envisages increase of the minimum wage and setting it as of 1 September of the current year at the level of 5 thousand UAH per month”, – stated in the message.

Earlier Zelensky said that raising the minimum wage from September 2020 is only the first stage. As expected, the second stage will be to increase from 2021 to 6 thousand UAH, and in the next year the minimum wage will increase to 6,5 thousand UAH.

Also with the increase in the minimum wage, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on August 26 decided to increase from September 1, 2020, the size of the official salary (the tariff rate) employees of the 1st tariff category of Unified tariff categories and coefficients on compensation of employees of the budgetary sphere up to 2,225 USD.
