The President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky thanked the administration of U.S. President Donald trump and the Congress in support of the decision on granting assistance to Ukraine in the field of security.

“Grateful to the US for unlocking military assistance to Ukraine for their continued support of our sovereignty and territorial integrity. United States reaffirmed their strategic partnership with Ukraine. Work together on!”, – Zelensky wrote on his page on Twitter on Friday.

As reported previously, the Administration of U.S. President Donald trump and the Congress supported the decision on granting assistance to Ukraine in the field of security, reported by the Ukrainian Embassy in the United States.

“Welcome the support of the US Administration and Congress on solutions to unblock the help of security Ukraine… These funds are intended for the purchase of weapons and military equipment, the provision of services that help improve the capabilities of the Armed forces of Ukraine”, – stated in the message of the Embassy on the page in Facebook on Thursday evening.

In particular, the security policy provides assistance in $250 million from the Pentagon’s budget in the framework of the “Initiative security assistance to Ukraine”, $115 million in the framework of the U.S. State Department’s “International war funding” from the budget of 2019, and $26.5 million for this program from the budget in 2018. “Such a policy is the security of the U.S. support the people of Ukraine to fight against Russian aggression is evidence of strategic partnership between our countries and a significant contribution to the strengthening of European and Euro-Atlantic security”, – said the Ukrainian Embassy.

On 5 September, Senator Ron Johnson said that if the allocation of $250 million of financial assistance to Ukraine in the security sphere the US is not going to happen because of the end of the fiscal year, it will happen in 2020.

Johnson pointed out that the provision of military assistance to Ukraine repeatedly adopted unanimously by the U.S. Congress.

“And now, given the fact that we have completed a financial year, whether this decision made depends on the time factor, because we are at the end of the financial year,” he explained.

The Senator stressed that the support of the Ukrainian people from the United States is “solid and inviolable”.
