Ukraine is interested in participation of Sweden in the implementation of large-scale projects in alternative energy, energy security, agriculture, IT sector, infrastructure and environmental protection, said the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky on the results of negotiations with Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven.

“I urged the Swedish side to increase business presence in Ukraine. We are very interested in large-scale projects in alternative and renewable energy, energy security, agriculture, IT sector, for infrastructure facilities,” he said Wednesday at a joint news conference with Lofven.

Zelensky said that Ukraine is persistently working to improve energy efficiency.

“It will make our economy much more competitive and will enhance the energy security of Ukraine. We hope for active cooperation in this sphere”, – he said.

Also, according to him, the sides agreed to attract Swedish investors in the waste recycling industry in key cities of Ukraine and strengthen cooperation on environmental protection and coping with climate change.

In turn, Stefan löfven stressed that Sweden welcomes the ambitious reform agenda in Ukraine.

“We are the second donor on the volume of technical aid to Ukraine. And we plan to continue to support the efforts of Ukraine to improve the lives of all Ukrainians and move the nation closer to the EU,” he said.

The Prime Minister of Sweden stressed that the program of assistance to Ukraine is based on three areas: support for economic development, strengthening of democracy, human rights and the rule of law and improve the protection of the environment.
